Perennial herbs; stems prostrate, 0.8–2 m long, pubescent; upper branches often nodding and forming a new shoot.
Leaves alternate, petiolate, oblong to ovate, 5–11 cm long, 2–5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base attenuate, margins obliquely serrate, pubescent, petiole 3–10 mm long.
Flowers subsessile, in dense many-flowered axillary cylindrical spikes; bracts linear-lanceolate, 4–5 mm long. Calyx 3–4 mm long; lobes linear-lanceolate, acuminate, entire, glabrous. Corolla tubular-campanulate, bluish purple; tube ca. 3 mm long; lobes trullate-ovate, ca. 2 mm long. Filaments distinctly exserted; anthers ca. 1.5 mm long.
Capsule ovoid, ca. 3 mm long.
